Back to School, plus some!

Back to School
It is so hard to believe we are back in school!! I am just getting ready for summer it seems like! But here is my now 4 year old ready to go.
I didn't post the one of him and Zach since it was blurry, but Zach was all about this school thing.
It is hard to get Noah to sit or stand still for a picture. He would rather pose in some random stance or hold his hands up in a bizarre manor, but this morning it was all Vogue.

See what I mean. I'm pretty sure he felt it necessary to wear these because it was raining. Gotta hand it to him for being creative right?!

The school had this sign up in the hallway. There was a fair amount of people in line waiting to snap their kids in front of it. I hate to say I was "one of those" moms but I was. The camera's were everywhere! It was like these kids were stars and they were on the red carpet!

We met up with Regan who is not in our class this year. I was very impressed with how Noah handled it. They still have church and small group together though so not all hope is lost!

Once they are signed in they wait on this carpet and read books until the other kids get there and then they can walk back in a line. And that care seat back there? Sadie...I am THAT mom I guess. Leaving kids everywhere, a bit jumbled. But we did very well today.

As I was getting ready to leave I saw this handsome face as the line leader. I am just shocked how grown up he looks. He was so ready for today. I am proud of his excitement for school and meeting new kids! And this was my shy kid...who knows what I'm in for with the other two!

Randoms

Speaking of other kids...I snagged a few of this precious bug!

This was a fun, quiet morning just us girls...

Man that hair is starting to look red to me...especially in pictures!

Always giving a wonderful smile!

Well it was a quiet morning until one by one the others woke up to join us. Zach just kept saying in a high pitched voice, "HI SADIE JANE!"

Evergreen State Fair
On Labor Day we decided to do the fair. Because at the Schulz home, we don't just sit around and let life pass us by, we grab it by the horns and color ourselves busy! It was a fun few hours though. We actually were just about to leave when the down pour started, so we kinda lucked out.

First things first, the Fair Scone!

This is really all I care about...so super delicious!

The we were off to the animals. I have to say, the bunnies were adorable and fluffy and different. But after that we saw cows, sheep and pigs. I am not a fan. I was trying to be the "cool" mom who wants their kids to be all in it and touching the animals, but I wasn't. And at the end Noah said, "But I thought we were going to pet the animals" hehe. So thankfully a nice gal was holding this sweet thing and we got a chance to touch an animal.

They also had a little area for kids to ride all sorts of tractors and grind up wheat and be a farmer.

Then we took a break at the Banana place, grabbed some hats and a snack and we were off. It was quite comical (as I am finding my everyday life is) because we had the double stroller and the single one. Many people gave us "the look" as the realized we were all together.

Then we hit the Carousel ride. Most of the rides Zach wasn't tall enough for and there would have been WW III if Noah went without Zach, so we settled for this one.

We played a bit of catch the fish for a super lame-o prize that Noah was very unimpressed with.

But to our surprise, right around the corner was this gem! Pony rides! Both kids could ride and it was a total blast. They took pictures of each of the kids on the horse with a fake backdrop and a cowboy hat and then charged $12 for one picture. So we got these instead. It was such a hoot watching them get trotted around and at times the ponies would run...we laughed so hard. Definitely the high light of the day.

Mr. Cool. Zach was so serious and as the horse walked it bumped him up and down and all around and he seemed so unfazed by it all. Which made it that much funnier. If that's even a word..

When we got home, we got warm baths and in our pj's and snuggled up in the tent (per Noah's idea) and watched a movie. For a few minutes at least. :)

Sadie and I got some girl time with Jen, Becky and Kristin at a restaurant in Kirkland. Such a fun time!

And last but not least, on a random Saturday afternoon, we went blueberry picking! I know, Im that kind of mom right! It was a bit of a circus act. After going to a park all the way in Snohomish, we decided to go to the farm that only took cash...so then we drove all the way to Safeway which is by my house to get Sadie's prescription and cash, then back to Snohomish for a whole 20 minutes of berry picking. But it turned out to be very fun. Noah kept saying he had the most and won. I unfortunately didn't have a camera. Which killed me because it was such a beautiful day out. But here is what we did get...almost 2 lbs of berries and a worm...which we found later...ack!

We washed them up and took out the stems and decided to make a blueberry cobbler. So we found a recipe and called on our friend to snag some lemon and we were off! Only to realize later we have no baking soda..who has NO baking soda?! I am a lone soldier I guess. So we then had to leave it all and go door to door until a neighbor lent us some. And such is my life...

Noah insisted on helping. Which was fun. I just don't realize that flour is such a fun thing to toss around and watch fall on the floor...he did do good though. He loves cooking with me.

That is Maggie and the kids, all making cobbler crust.

After this we took off to the high school football game. When we got back we ate up the cobbler with ice cream so I forgot to get the out of the oven shot, but this should do. It was fun and really easy. I think its getting my cooking juices flowing again.

you wouldn't let your kids pet the animals?? say wha?? conor was all over it and I was more than happy to have him in a penned in area. He was completely devoted to feeding corn husks to any animal that seemed interested. You just go with me next time and leave me with the kids at the petting zoo. Time of their lives!!
